The Edwin and Letitia Lindsay Endowed Sport Management Scholarship is merit-based and was established in 2010 to support the educational efforts of students interested in the field of Sport Management. Dr. Lindsay is a Teaching Assistant Professor of Sport Management in the PRTM department and a three-time NCSU graduate with degrees in Biology, Parks Recreation and Tourism Management and Education. His wife, Dr. Letitia Hazel-Lindsay is the former Medical Director at North Carolina Central University’s Student Health and Counseling Center and a graduate of Hunter College in New York City and the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. In March of 2014, Dr. Hazel-Lindsay began work in the position of Medical Director of Student Health Services at North Carolina State University.
Dr. Lindsay “Edwin” is a huge fan of the Washington Redskins and N.C State Athletics while his wife, Letitia is a huge fan of the New York Giants and Wake Forest University Athletics. While this makes for some interesting times at the Lindsay household, there are two things that they are resolute on, their love of daughter Madison and the importance of education. Both Drs. Lindsay are beneficiaries of quality education and serve as “living proof” of what can happen when desire, preparation and opportunity meets a deserving student.
Scholarship applicants must be undergraduate students enrolled in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management with a concentration in Sports Management at NCSU.
