Program Management with a minor is Business Administration
Why did you choose PRTM?
I chose PRTM because I wanted to have a career that allowed me to make a difference in people’s lives and be active in the community. I have always wanted to work with older adults in some capacity, and program management offers amazing opportunities for this.
I also love the environment in CNR. Every professor I have had has been more than willing to help me or any student with a problem they are having. You can tell that the professors really care about you and you earning your degree.
What internships or volunteer experiences have you had?
I have worked for NC Senior Games part time for two years. I have had so many opportunities there to learn about sport and program planning, and I have had the opportunity to meet many professionals in the field.
What advice would you give to future students?
This is said all the time, but networking is so important. CNR offers amazing opportunities to get to know professionals all around North Carolina, and it will definitely benefit you to take advantage of these opportunities. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to people, professionals in this field love to see students take initiative!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In ten years I would love to be working at a Senior Center or Retirement Community as an activities coordinator. I believe staying active is important for healthy aging and I would love to be able to promote that.
What are your fondest memories about being a student at NC State?
My favorite memories at NC State would be going to football and basketball games with my friends and supporting the Wolfpack!
