The PGA Golf Management curriculum includes both general education and PGM core requirements.General education requirements include courses in writing and speaking, mathematics & natural sciences, humanities & social sciences, and physical education.
The PGM core requirements include several courses required of all students in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, as well as specific courses required for all PGM majors such as Turfgrass Management, Food and Beverage Management and Golf Course Architecture.
Students must pass the checkpoint tests for PGA Golf Management Levels I, II and III and the Playing Ability Test prior to graduation.
Double Majors and Minors
Students are encouraged to double major or minor in disciplines of their choice. Examples of current student dual degrees include PGM with: Business Management, Spanish, and Parks, Recreation, Tourism Management – Tourism and Commercial Recreation Concentration. Some examples of current student minors with a PGM degree include: Political Science, Coaching, Business Management, Journalism, and Environmental Science.
