Congratulations to Jenna Hartley<\/a> who was selected as one of only five of this year’s Nancy Foster Scholars<\/a> through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration<\/a> (NOAA). Jenna is the first recipient ever chosen who studies education & outreach. Under the advisement of Dr. Kathryn Stevenson, Jenna’s research examines the role of students as environmental change-agents in their communities, specifically on the topic of marine debris, or plastic pollution. The Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program<\/a> was introduced in Congress and signed into law on November 13, 2000.
