New “Industry Experience Program” Immerses Students In Hands-On Geospatial Traineeships While Completing Their Degrees
The Center for Geospatial Analytics is excited to announce the launch of the CGA Industry Experience Program (IEP). This new program will give graduate students the opportunity to immerse themselves in real-world geospatial projects through industry partner traineeships over multiple semesters while simultaneously working towards a degree.
Student eligibility is determined through a two-tiered application process in which the graduate program will first evaluate students based on industry partner’s needs followed by an evaluation by the hiring partner. This is a competitive program with limited spaces available each year. Pay rates, time commitment, and project responsibilities will vary based on the individual industry partners and their current needs. Students are still expected to maintain good academic standing and progress in their degree program.
We are pleased to announce our first industry partner will be ProStar (www.prostarcorp.com), a GIS-centric software and services company focused on providing utility owners and pipeline operators with solutions that improve asset management and damage prevention. Please see the attached flyer, Traineeship Opportunites with ProStar, for details on the position.
If you are interested in applying for the ProStar opportunity, download and complete the IEP Application Form and email a copy to Eric Money. The deadline for submitting applications is Monday, May 4th. Your application will be reviewed and the industry partner will select candidates for interviews in early May.
There are currently 2 positions available with ProStar, each for ~20 hrs/week @ $13.50/hr. A preferred start date will be Mid-May to early June.
Completed applications should be emailed to Eric Money. Please submit your application by May 4th!
