Founded in 2014, CNR News is an online news site managed by the Office of Marketing and Communications at NC State’s College of Natural Resources. The site includes original reporting about the college's latest research initiatives and expert analysis on global environmental issues, ranging from forest health and wildlife conservation to climate change and sustainability. Additional content found on the site includes stories about student experiences, faculty and staff achievements and philanthropy.
Meet Our Team
Sarah Corica
She/Her/Hers
Sarah is the director of marketing and communications for NC State’s College of Natural Resources. In her role, she develops and oversees the implementation of content, marketing, web and social media strategy. Prior to joining the college, Sarah served as assistant director in NC State’s Office of Development Communications. She also previously managed communications and marketing at a nonprofit organization supporting early childhood education. Sarah earned a B.A. in Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. To reach Sarah, email secorica@ncsu.edu.
Andrew Moore
He/Him/His
Andrew is the marketing and communications manager at NC State’s College of Natural Resources. He is the executive editor of CNR News and primarily writes about faculty research and popular topics related to the environment. Andrew previously wrote for Community Journals Publishing Group in Greenville, South Carolina where he worked as a science and technology reporter. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2016 with a degree in print and online journalism. When Andrew isn’t writing, he’s either hiking or reading a good book. Emma Gosalvez
She/Her/Hers
Emma is the social media specialist for NC State’s College of Natural Resources. She develops content for and manages the college’s social media channels. Emma also writes web content about alumni, faculty research and trending topics related to the environment. She previously worked as a writer and social media coordinator for Penn State University’s IT Communications. Emma graduated from Shippensburg University with a bachelor’s in communication and journalism in 2011 and a master’s in communication studies in 2013.
