Five Questions with Process Engineer Ryan Barnes

A scholarship enabled Ryan Barnes to graduate from the College of Natural Resources in 2016 with degrees in paper science and engineering and chemical engineering. He’s now using the skills he gained at NC State as a process engineer for Cree Inc., a North Carolina-based manufacturer of semiconductor products.

The Sustainable Bioproducts and Bioenergy Program (SBBP) Adapts to COVID-19

The Sustainable Bioproducts and Bioenergy Program is a collaboration between NC State’s College of Natural Resources led by Dr. Richard Venditti and the College of Education led by Dr. Margaret Blanchard. Currently, the program is focused on educational outreach in high schools, particularly those in rural communities. The SBBP team works with science teachers in these communities to provide distance courses, lesson plans, hands on workshops, and resources to promote sustainable practices using plant-based and renewable resources.
