Piedmont Triad Regional Council is looking for a self-motivated and energetic person to join our team that helps to improve homes of needy individuals in our communities. Duties to be performed will consist of assisting a CD Project Installer in the general rehabilitation of single-family residential homes. Specific tasks would include repairing rotten floors, repairing joists, repairing outside bands. Regular work would include installing exterior doors, attic accesses, grab bars, and building ramps and decks. Other duties will include installing vapor barriers, insulation, sealing ducts, and completing other air sealing. An employee in this work will assist CD Project Installer in completing jobs while receiving on the job training in the construction and weatherization field. The education and experience requirements of the job are graduation from high school and some of experience in in framing and carpentry or building maintenance trades, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. This position will require but not be limited to a basic knowledge of building construction and a working knowledge of framing.
If you are selected to fill the role of Community Development Construction Assistant, you will need to present a valid North Carolina Driver's License, pass the pre-employment drug screen and background screening process. Travel throughout the 12-county region through the week is a requirement. Other travel may be required on occasion.
All of our PTRC staff is required to complete a probationary period with six months of performance as an independent operator.
