Crop Phenotyping Scientist (internal Syngenta title is Laboratory Assistant 2 Req#: 33283915 RTP)
Location: Syngenta RTP

Hourly rate (W2): $22.00 - $24.85/hr.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8-5 standard business hours schedule
Initial contract length: 6 months; Syngenta lab contracts are likely to extend

This role is focused on a special phenotyping project.
Responsibilities:
Function as a team member and support molecular analysis delivery efforts defined by supervisor or manager
Contribute to implementation of fit-for-purpose molecular analysis, and effectively evaluate, implement, and drive results
Follow instructions and pre-established SOPs to perform the functions of the job Plan and execute molecular analysis experiments, including DNA, RNA or protein extraction and QC, PCR analysis, ELISA analysis, preparation for Sanger sequencing or NGS, and other lab work related to team delivery
Record observations, analysis details, report results, & maintain these records clearly and accurately
Communicate progress and results with function teams and projects in a timely fashion
BS degree in area of biology, genetics, molecular biology, genomics or related field
Basic lab training / lab experience in molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, genomics or other biology related field
Knowledge / lab training / lab experience with DNA, RNA, or protein extraction
Knowledge / lab training / lab experience with PCR, RT-PCR, next generation sequencing library preparation, or ELISA analysis
Experience with high-throughput laboratory process or laboratory operation is a plus
Proficiency in MS office, and familiarity with software for molecular analysis
