Education and
Experience


â–  Graduation from a four-year college with an emphasis in biology, ecology, education,
outdoor recreation or any combination.
â–  At least three years’ experience in designing, planning and implementing educational
programs, tours and workshops to various ages in indoor and outdoor settings.
â–  Experience in creating educational lesson plans and/or EE curriculum for a wide range of
ages and subjects.
â–  Experience in handling large groups in a programming capacity.
â–  First Aid-CPR Certification preferred or ability to acquire certification in three months.


Principal Job
Responsibilitie
s


â–  Design and implement programs and tours at Brasstown Bald and Anna Ruby Falls that
focus on environmental education, history, interpretation, local culture, the arts and the
individual sites.
â–  Design a basic, working environmental education curriculum that reflects the unique
characteristics of Brasstown Bald and correlates to Georgia state standards.
â–  Meet and work with local and regional school groups to promote Brasstown Bald as a
unique educational opportunity.
â–  Work closely with Managers and staff to design, implement and promote public and after-
hour events
â–  Identify, acquire and properly maintain environmental education supplies for both
locations and manage a supply budget.
â–  Work with the Director of Education to identify potential education and exhibit grants.
â–  Advertise and market all programming in Georgia through social media, online calendars,
press releases and flyers.
â–  Identify and work with local partners to bring awareness of both locations.
â–  Travel between both locations on a regular basis and to other CFAIA locations as needed.
â–  Evening, nighttime and weekend work required.


Skills and
Abilities


â–  Excellent oral and written communication skills with both staff and general public.
â–  Basic knowledge of budgeting and finance structuring
â–  Must be able to meet with Managers and staff on a daily and/or weekly basis.
â–  Knowledge of online and print marketing and advertising.
â–  Basic knowledge of website updating and online registration or ability to learn within
three months.
â–  Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point applications.
â–  Ability to work closely with Director of Education and staff at Brasstown Bald and Anna
Ruby Falls.
â–  Able to provide personal transportation.
