Greenhouse Research Technician (Internal Syngenta title is Glasshouse Technician JD33281219)
Location: Syngenta RTP
Department: Greenhouse
Hourly rate (W2): $20.50
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8-5 standard business hours schedule. May include occasional weekend and holiday hours
Initial contract length: 6 months; Syngenta lab contracts are likely to extend
Common tasks to be performed:
Conduct a variety of crop phenotyping experiments in controlled environments including greenhouses, growth chambers, and laboratories.
Perform integrated plant phenotyping activities to quantify morphological, physiological, agronomic, and molecular traits.
Seek opportunities to optimize operational efficiency associated with plant care, phenotypic measurements, and digital data collections.
Collect and deliver phenotypic data timely to meet project milestones using science-based approaches.
Minimum of a BS degree in Plant Biology, Crop Science, Agronomy, and other closely related fields.
Proficiency in plant phenotyping techniques and protocols applicable to major row crops such as corn and soybeans.
Prior experience working with greenhouse and equivalent industry experience.
Hands-on experience with automated phenotyping tools and related software.
Knowledge and experience working with image-based plant phenotyping workflows.
