Primary Duties:
Assist research scientists with ongoing field projects on local and State water bodies.  
Daily travel and field work in all weather conditions.  
Working knowledge and proficiency in data gathering and equipment calibration using water quality sondes, light meters, current meters, etc.
Operation of boats with outboard motors.  Must be able to trailer boats to field site.
Occasional support of general laboratory-based activities is also expected.
Assist with training of undergraduate and graduate students in field sample collection and field operations.

Work Schedule
25-29 hours per week between 9am-6pm M-F, with flexibility as needed depending on field conditions

Department Required Skills
Must be able to operate boats and trailer boats to study sites and work in all types of weather. 
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.  
Must be able to perform basic maintenance of boats, boat motors, trailers and trucks.   
Experience with maintenance of field equipment, calibration of sensors, and detailed log keeping.  
Must be familiar with programming cell phone modems and operation in the field.
