Since 1993, Broadreach has offered adventure and experiential education for middle school and high school students in diverse locations around the world. Our active and highly facilitated adventures provide students with the opportunity  to learn, explore and build skills through hands-on discovery and interaction with the world’s oceans, ecosystems and wildlife. Our small, dedicated, full-time team operates primarily out of our HQ office in Raleigh, NC. Position Description:

Broadreach is accepting applications for a part-time gear manager and office assistant internship. This paid position includes many and diverse responsibilities across multiple aspects of our operation including:  Customer service, mailing, gear inventory, ordering and shipping  and other administrative tasks and office errands. The ideal candidate is a college student or recent graduate with an interest in program administration, education and international travel.  Current students may be able to earn internship credit depending on your institution and department.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Order, inventory, organize and ship student gear.

  • Inventory and organize program gear.

  • Organize and inventory gear in an offsite storage area.

  • Data entry and clerical tasks – database clean up, mailings and general administrative duties.

  • Help collect, print and organize student enrollment paperwork.

  • Print and organize program materials for summer staff (manuals, paperwork, etc).

  • Assist with Staff training preparation and logistics.

Compensation, Schedule and Location

  • Hourly Compensation: Starting at $15/hr,  commensurate with experience.

  • Schedule: Flexible days and hours to generally occur during business hours.

  • Location: Broadreach Office, downtown Raleigh, NC.

Qualifications for this position include the following:

Candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, motivated and flexible.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Strong customer service oriented attitude required.
Ability to work collaboratively within a tight-knit team and function independently on diverse projects in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer service-focused environment.
Proficiency with computer software applications such as MS Office, G-suite required.
