The Arbor Creek Dragons, a TSA-member swim team in Holly Springs, is looking for Swim Coaches to join our summer coaching team.

The primary goal of the Arbor Creek Dragons is to offer a fun and competitive summer swim program to the youth of the Arbor Creek neighborhood. The coaches' key objectives are to aid swimmers in mastering strokes, setting and achieving goals, practicing good sportsmanship, and developing confidence through swimming.

The position runs from the beginning of May until the end of July. The work schedule includes daily weekday evening practices and 2 morning practices per week. Swim meets include 7 weeknight meets (6 dual meets and 1 mock meet) as well as one weekend championship meet at the end of the season. The team holds several evening social events that coaches are expected to attend, including an end of season banquet.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• work with swimmers ages 4-18 to develop knowledge of competitive swimming


• establish practice workouts based on swimmer levels


• provide informative feedback for swimmer improvement


• create good rapport with swimmers and parents


• help swimmers build confidence in their strokes


• collaborate with Arbor Creek Dragons Board


• create meet lineups, assist with setting up and tearing down for meets


• participate in team social events


• provide fun & positive experience for swimmers and their families
   

Requirements & Experience:

• Knowledge of the four basic strokes (free, breast, back and butterfly)


• Previous swimming experience (recreational or competitive)


• Ability to teach techniques to improve swimmers, skills


• Experience in coaching preferred


• Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid certifications preferred


• Must be available for the season May-July
