Tomo Engineering is hiring a Water Resources Engineer. Your responsibilities will include design and management of assigned projects, including, but not limited to drainage studies, design, layout and analysis of open and closed storm drainage systems for linear transportation projects, hydraulic flood studies, stormwater management, and sedimentation and erosion control design:
Responsibilities:
- Designing and analyzing storm drainage features, Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs) and Sediment and Erosion Control Best Management Practices (BMPs)
- Preparing environmental permit drawings and construction plans and specifications
- Utilize HEC-RAS software for FEMA floodplain analysis and compliance
- Utilize MicroStation, GeoPak, ORD, and HEC-RAS software skills.
- Bring a willingness to learn along with a positive and responsive attitude.

Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Tomo Engineering is a newly formed small professional services firm (SPSF) specializing in hydraulic and erosion control design for NCDOT transportation facilities.
Tomo is client-focused and results-oriented through the belief that we, as a client and consultant team, have the same goal of delivering projects. The Tomo team has a combined 90 years of hydrologic and hydraulic design experience that covers the length and breadth of the Southeast.
Requirements:
Working knowledge of basic hydrologic and hydraulics principles
1-3 years of experience of water resources experience (Including Coops and Internships)
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program.
EI or ability to obtain an EI within 6 months of starting.
Previous experience with the NCDOT preferred
Working knowledge of MicroStation, OpenRoads and/or AutoCad; Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is preferred
