  • Provide forestry consulting services to private forest landowners in the Driftless region of Southwest Wisconsin. Our services include:

  • Designing and implementing forest management plans; Establishing and coordinating timber sales;

  • Consulting on best practices for harvesting, timber stand improvement and wildlife habitat management.

Your Role:


As our newest team member, you'll begin by learning our process of establishing/administering timber sales, developing forest management plans and communicating with landowners, loggers, timber buyers and other stakeholders. Once acclimated, you'll take lead on projects and work closely with our team to manage and oversee your own projects. We’ll welcome new ideas and encourage you to take an active role in improving our systems and processes.


What We Offer:



  • Full-time position

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience ($50-65K per year)

  • Flexible work schedule, typically 40 hours per week, with flex options for a summer schedule to take advantage of longer daylight hours and have extended weekends.

Qualifications
What Skills and Trails We’ll Need From You:
3+ years of forestry experience, including timber marking and sale administration. Being a WI DNR Certified Plan Writer (CPW) would be an added bonus.
Understanding of forest management practices and logging operations, ideally with experience or knowledge in the driftless area of Wisconsin
4-year degree in forest management from an accredited university.
Comfortable working independently in various weather conditions and on uneven, hilly terrain. Proficient with spreadsheets, GIS mapping, project management and client communication.
Valid driver’s license and suitable vehicle for off-road work.
Detail-oriented and able to follow systems and processes (include “LFM-Forester-2-2024” in your email subject line when applying to prove your attention to detail)
