HSCSC is a non-profit organization dedicated to making Hillsborough Street a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive community. We strive to enhance the economic development and quality of life in the area through community engagement, event planning, and communication initiatives. 


We are seeking a dynamic and motivated event planning and communication intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in event management, community outreach, and strategic communication. The intern will work closely with our Engagement team to plan, promote, and execute events that engage and benefit the Hillsborough Street Community. 


Responsibilities Include: 



  • Help plan, build, promote and operate special events 

  • Logistics support for key events throughout the semester 

  • Tourism and special event activities focused on economic development 

  • Research and build new event ideas 

  • Engage and cultivate relationships with local stakeholders and community members to encourage participation in events and programs 

  • Manage website content, including calendar events, business directory information, etc

  • Assist in the design and distribution of promotional materials 

  • Research and develop marketing programs for the street
