Your Role:


As our newest team member, you'll begin by learning the ropes of timber sales, this will include marking timber and performing forest inventories. As you gain experience, you'll work directly with landowners, loggers, and timber buyers to discuss and implement logging operations and develop management plans from start to finish. Eventually, you'll perform landowner consultations, onboard new clients, and independently manage and oversee your own projects.


What We Offer:



  • Full-time position

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience ($40-50K per year)

  • Flexible work schedule, typically 40 hours per week, with flex options for a summer schedule to take advantage of longer daylight hours and have extended weekends.

Qualifications
What Skills and Trails We’ll Need From You:
Minimum of 1 summer forestry internship.
Understanding or willingness to learn forest management systems and forest cover types of the Great Lakes region. 2 or 4-year degree in forest management or related field.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven, hilly terrain.
Understanding of spreadsheets, GIS mapping, and be proficient in the use of a compass, increment borer, cruising prism and a biltmore stick.
Valid driver’s license and suitable vehicle for off-road work.
Detail-oriented and able to follow systems and processes (include “LFM-Forester-1-2024” in your email subject line when applying to prove your attention to detail)
