As a part of our Ecosystem Services Team, the Engineer will assist Project Managers with tasks appropriate for an engineer, including data review, site review, field documentation, data analysis, reporting, permitting documentation, civil (primarily focused on stream/wetland/buffer restoration and stormwater control measures) engineering planning and design.
• The best part being an Ecosystems Engineer in one of Michael Baker’s North Carolina offices (Cary, Charlotte, Greensboro or Asheville) is that no two days will be the same. You will face different challenges every day, some of which will be extraordinarily complex. We ask our Engineers to work alongside multiple disciplines including biologists, soil scientist, planners, permitting specialists, architects, etc. in indoor and outdoor conditions.
• The majority of your day would be spent on a team performing various tasks from online site identification to post construction monitoring. Example tasks include: site searches; field reviews; creating stream and/or wetland restoration design plans, specifications, quantities and estimates; hydraulic modeling of designs; construction inspections; and post-construction monitoring. This position includes both office and field tasks.
