The NC State Natural Resources Foundation, Inc. supports the success of the college through management and stewardship of assets. Members and directors are committed to the future of the college and the future of natural resources industries.

Investing in the Future
The foundation oversees more than $150 million in assets and supports the college through scholarships, fellowships, professorships, academic programs, research, facility and lab improvements, and various student programs not typically supported through state appropriations.
Guided by a passionate and dedicated board, the foundation empowers students and faculty to become leaders in natural resource solutions. Their commitment to creating a more sustainable, efficient and better world inspires the college to set ambitious goals and achieve them.
About the Foundation
Established in 1929 as the NC Forestry Foundation, Inc., the NC State Natural Resources Foundation, Inc. is the oldest foundation at North Carolina State University. Governed by a 20-member Board of Directors, the Foundation oversees more than $150 million in assets and is dedicated to supporting the college’s needs, particularly through external funding, including:
- Scholarships, fellowships and professorships
- Operating funds for programs
- Advisory and advocacy groups for academic and research programs
- Fundraising capability
- Management of land holdings
- Stewardship of donor gifts and funding support for natural resources advancement
