Rico Ruffino
Bio
Rico Ruffino teaches Principles of Sustainable Product Development, Product Visualization, and the Sustainable Product Development Capstone.
Ruffino established the Sustainable Design and Testing Service Center to support companies in developing and testing innovative, sustainable products. He is also leading the creation of a sustainable materials technology design lab within the Hodges Wood Products Facility. This state-of-the-art lab will allow students to design and fabricate environmentally friendly, human-centered products while utilizing advanced technologies to streamline the creative process and reduce resource waste.
An active member of the Industrial Design Society of America and the Sustainable Furnishings Council, Ruffino collaborates with industry working groups to explore and advance sustainability within the furnishings sector.
