Innovation in Mass Timber Solutions (IMTS)
October 28 | 12:00 pm - October 29 | 7:00 pm
$75The Innovation in Mass Timber Solutions (IMTS) is a two-day conference that will gather experts from across industry and academia, to provide an experience that engages participants in the exploration of the development and application of mass timber and cross laminated timber. This conference provides an opportunity to bridge industry and academia to come together to develop a road map for an initiative in innovation in wood education. Featuring a field tour, expert presentations, small group activities, and discussions, IMTS will engage attendees in the exploration of the development and application of mass timber solutions.
During the field tour, participants will watch a demonstration of engineering and mechanical testing of cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels at NC State’s Constructed Facilities Lab, visit sites–including JC Raulston Arboretum–with heavy timber construction, and learn about growing timber by visiting a managed forest (Schenck Forest).
This event will cater to the diverse interests of academics, architects and designers, builders, forestry professionals, industry, manufacturers, municipalities, and others.
A scholarship fund, courtesy of Jordan Lumber and John Briel (class of 1970), has been set aside for NC State students to attend free of charge, but students must still register. Scholarships are limited so we encourage you to register as early as possible. Contact Janice Sitzes at jdsitzes@jdsitzes for student discount code.
