Congratulations PGA Level 3 Graduates

Congratulations to the members of the senior class who received their certifications of completion for all required PGA coursework.

These students have successfully completed 3 levels of PGA coursework over a four year period, 16 months of required internship experience and passed the PGA Playing Ability Test. Students will complete their remaining NC State courses during the next academic year and graduate with a BS degree in Professional Golf Management. These students have completed internships at facilities such as Medinah Country Club (IL), Whistling Straits Resort (WI), and Four Seasons at Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica.

When Steve Limpach began his academic career at NC State he had no idea that he would one day be President of the NC State PGA Golf Management program and would have the opportunity to work at PGA Headquarters for one of his internships. "As an intern, learning how this organization operates from the inside out was truly eye opening."

if golf is your passion make it your major NC State's PGA Golf Management Program is one of 20 PGA accredited university programs nationwide. The curriculum provides students the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills necessary for success in the golf industry via extensive classroom studies and internship experience. Students earn a college degree and obtain PGA membership upon job placement.

FANTASTIC FACILITIES - Lonnie Poole Golf Course

Students in our PGA accredited PGA Golf Management Program (and everyone else in the NC State Community) are excited about the new Arnold Palmer Signature 18-hole, 6,915-yard, par 71 public golf course, with practice range and green golf facility. Located on 1,000 acres on NC State's Centennial Campus close to Downtown Raleigh, the Lonnie Poole Golf Course provides a top-notch, on-site, hands-on learning opportunity for our PGM students.

PGM Students Finish Big in Las Vegas Tournament

NC State PGA Golf Management students, Josh Rackley and Alex Kowalski, finished in second place at the 2010 National Collegiate Golf Championship (NCGC) in Las Vegas November 12-14. Rackley and Kowalski were one of two teams posting a score below par (-1, 71). The Wolfpack PGM students captured the National Skills Challenge overall championship with Rackley additionally picking up honors as the overall Skills Challenge Champion for all division competitors.
