PRTM PHD Student Jenna Hartley Selected as Nancy Foster Scholar
Congratulations to Jenna Hartley who was selected as one of only five of this year’s Nancy Foster Scholars through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Jenna is the first recipient ever chosen who studies education & outreach. Under the advisement of Dr. Kathryn Stevenson, Jenna’s research examines the role of students as environmental change-agents in their communities, specifically on the topic of marine debris, or plastic pollution. The Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program was introduced in Congress and signed into law on November 13, 2000.
