DASA Needs Volunteers to Help Students in Quarantine
- Isolation/Quarantine Student Check In Calls – Employees are needed to call students who have been assigned to isolation/quarantine on a daily basis. Calls can be made from anywhere and it is just to check on the student, see how they are doing, if they need anything, or they need follow up from Student Health, Dining, etc. See signup sheet that will be done weekly. DASA is asking for general sign up times, not specific hours. Calls can be made morning, afternoon, or evening. We will send more information to those that have signed up.
- WolfPack Response Line (WRL) – Employees are needed to answer calls from the WRL, a centralized resource for the NC State community regarding all questions related to COVID-19 and campus life during this time. Call agents will receive training and have access to a Google site with up-to-date information on campus operations, policies, and resources. See sign up sheet for weekly shifts and can field calls from anywhere.
For staff working on campus any part of the week, there is a high need for runners and COVID testing assistance:
- Runners for students in quarantine – Volunteers are needed that can pick up supplies and deliver to students in Isolation/Quarantine. Supplies such as library books, medicine or other pharmaceutical needs from the on campus Pharmacy, and other items as needed. See sign up for Isolation/Quarantine Runners.
- COVID testing assistants at the Student Health Center – Volunteers are needed to assist in the COVID testing process. This includes giving instructions to individuals regarding how to complete the COVID test and checking off their name once done. Each person gets a bag with the needed supplies. They need 2 people per shift 9-12am and 1-4pm, Monday through Sunday. Any employee that signs up will be added to the campus surveillance for COVID testing.
- Answering Phones in the Student Health Center – Volunteers are needed to answer the appointments line in the Student Health Center. There will be no contact with students but due to scheduling software this has to be in the Health Center. Two to three people are needed per shift (8am-12:30pm and 12:30pm-5pm, Monday through Friday) Sign up: Student Health – Phones
All on campus volunteers opportunities are contactless, but do require being on campus. Safety measures include: mask, face shield, staying 6 feet apart and using sanitizer).
