Master of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management

The Master of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management program emphasizes the application of social science theory and research in solving management and policy problems. This program is designed specifically for students who are interested in pursuing a doctoral degree or conducting research in their future work.

Students who enroll in this 30-hour program are required to develop and conduct a research project about an issue or topic in recreation, tourism or sport management, then present their methodologies and results as a thesis. This program allows each student to develop a plan of study and research that is challenging and stimulating. Once admitted, students complete a series of core classes and then work with an advisor and faculty committee to enroll in elective courses that meet their unique research interests and career objectives.
