CNR Work Scholarship Application

Students who complete the scholarship application below will be considered for all Forestry and Environmental Resources (FER) Work scholarships. Work Scholarships are competitively awarded based on academic merit, leadership, and ability to perform or willingness to learn forest management activities such as prescribed fire, timber inventory, road maintenance, boundary line marking, record-keeping, and mapping. Work Scholarship applicants must be willing to work on most Saturdays. A total grade point average of at least 2.5 (on a 4-point scale) is required.

Work scholarships provide up to $4,800 per year but require up to 240 hours of work on one of the college-owned forests. Recipients are paid biweekly at the rate of $16 to $20 per hour until the max award has been earned. The high pay rate and practical work experience are the principal benefits of Work Scholarships. Students on academic scholarships through the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources are NOT eligible to apply.
