Jing-Huei Huang
Postdoctoral Scholar
Bio
Jing is a postdoctoral scholar with a background in geography, tourism, parks and recreation and health promotion. Jing is dedicated to advancing community health through supportive built and social environments, with a focus on park use and physical activity. Her research focuses on advancing evaluation methodology that complements traditional methods to better understand outdoor recreation settings that promote active lifestyles. One of her current projects investigates the patterns of children’s play and space use through accelerometer/GPS data using density-based clustering techniques, which informs playspace design and layout that encourage diversified and active play. Her research also highlights the built environment’s role in impacting and advancing health equity. She currently works on a project that aims to map playspace equity in Colorado, in collaboration with KABOOM! funded by the Colorado Health Foundation.
