Bio

Fernando uses geospatial analytics to explore questions related to air pollution, climate change and environmental policy. He develops tools based on high-performance computing, uncertainty analysis and integrated assessment modeling to simulate interactions between environmental and human systems at varying spatial and temporal scales. Interests include wildland fires, public health, energy systems and air quality modeling in Latin America.

Fernando and project collaborators use computational modeling and data analysis to understand the distribution and sources of air pollution over Bogota, Colombia.
