Why did you choose Paper Science and Engineering (PSE)?
I attended admitted students day and liked what I saw. The program seemed to be one where the professors cared about the students and the material seemed interesting. The emphasis on work experience was a big reason why I liked the program.
What is your favorite thing about Paper Science and Engineering?
I love the atmosphere that is created. It is a group on campus where everyone in the major is connected and gets to know each other very well.
What is your favorite thing about NC State?
My favorite part about NC State is the people. Students and professors here are friendly and care about each other. I also love Wolfpack sports.
What advice would you offer to an incoming freshman?
The key thing is to be as engaged as possible. If you engage with others you will learn from them and learn about some of the cool opportunities that are available to be involved in.
What has been your favorite professor or staff?
My favorite faculty was Coach Brown. He was my instructor for survival swimming. The life lessons learned in the class have been useful in my engineering classes. His emphasis on doing tasks slow and relaxed with good technique have been useful in approaching problems smoothly. His genuine interest in students was also a large reason for his impact.
What is your favorite extra-curricular activity?
My favorite extra-curricular activity is being able to cheer on the Wolfpack at sporting events. By being a part of the Student Wolfpack Club I get the opportunity to go to events and be engaged with school spirit.
