Degree Programs

Students in the Department of Forest Biomaterials are passionate about the sustainable use of our planet’s resources. Our graduates leave with an understanding of the interplay between science, engineering, people, business and the environment when it comes to the development of products we use every day. Graduates enjoy successful careers as process and project engineers, production managers, material scientists, sustainability managers, market analysts and more.

The Department of Forest Biomaterials is a close-knit community, where students benefit from smaller class sizes with direct access to faculty and hands-on projects. Faculty and staff support our students from application to graduation. As an intimate community in a large university, we’re proud to offer our students the best of both worlds.

Sustainable Bioproducts and Bioenergy Program

The Sustainable Bioproducts and Bioenergy Program (SBBP) is a certificate program for undergraduates students currently in STEM majors, who are interested in careers in sustainable and renewable energy and products industries. The program runs from Fall 2018 through Summer 2021, with preference given to undergraduates from underrepresented STEM communities, like women, minorities, and first-generation college students.
