Fondue Fun

The Piercy’s Pair up for Fondue Fun

Between online classes, staying inside, and the loads of work to do the last thing students want to do is to log onto another Zoom meeting. But when you combine that meeting with food, socializing, and chocolate, that is a different story! After the success, our Student TAPPI Chapter experienced with the Dumpling Cooking Night hosted by Dr. Jameel and his wife, Mari; Jennifer Piercy  and her husband Jerry, followed up with a sweet treat- FONDUE! The recipe was super simple and can be made in a full kitchen or even a dorm microwave. All of the kits came with everything you needed, including the chocolate, cream, fruit and so much more, and it was very fulfilling.

I have really enjoy being able to learn how to make these different recipes with my peers because it gives us the chance to try new things with each other from the comfort of our own homes. With the pandemic, it has been challenging and very difficult to connect to peers that we do not normally have classes with since we do not pass each other in the hallways anymore. But, with the opportunity to socialize AND eat good food, it makes logging onto another Zoom meeting, late at night worth it. I definitely do miss being able to bond with others in person, but these cooking Zooms have been something to look forward to!
