Why did you choose Paper Science and Engineering (PSE)?
Initially the scholarship, but also because I knew nothing about paper and I was surprised that there was a whole degree dedicated to it.
What is your favorite thing about Paper Science and Engineering?
THE CONNECTIONS!! Between Paula, Jennifer, Brittany, and Dr. Byrd you can find a job or pursue that goal of yours in and outside of academics.
What is your favorite thing about NC State?
Ironically how big it is. A lot of people get intimated by the size, but a big campus allows more opportunities to happen.
What advice would you offer to an incoming freshman?
Definitely use your first year to explore and truly find yourself because after that freshman year it’s nose to the grind stone so you can get your degree.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I am somewhat artsy. I like to paint, draw, dance, sing, play the piano, etc. I have a lot of hobbies within the arts.
What is the biggest obstacle you have faced thus far?
Balancing the materials in my classes because it’s one thing to do the homework, but it’s another trying to make sure you actually understanding the material and not just memorizing formulas.
