Reconnecting at the Society of Wood Science and Technology Convention

On October 20-25th, 2019 professionals and students from all across the world met in Yosemite National Park to celebrate the 62nd Annual International Society of Wood Science and Technology Convention. The overall theme was “Renewable Materials and the Wood-based BioEconomy”. This convention serves as an opportunity for everyone within the profession to network, participate in sessions catered to new up and coming technology, and present new research.

Forest Biomaterials postdoc, Dr. Adam Scouse, spoke on his experience, “The SWST conference was a great opportunity to reconnect with old colleagues, keep updated on their research, and share in the beauty of Yosemite. I appreciated the society’s emphasis on social events, like the pit fire and live band which kept us dancing into the evening. All in all, a great mix of research exploration, friends, and the trees that bring us all together!”

Next year’s SWST 63rd Annual Convention will be held in Portorož, Slovenia on July 12-17th, 2020!
