Why did you choose  Paper Science and Engineering (PSE)?

  • I came to an Admitted Student Visitation Day and was immediately attracted to the hands-on atmosphere, emphasis on sustainability, and most importantly, the family and community feel.

What is your favorite thing about Paper Science and Engineering?

  • The family atmosphere and overwhelming support for students is hands-down my favorite thing about PSE.

What is your favorite thing about NC State?

  • NC State is a big university that feels small; we get all the benefits and opportunities of a large university while still having the family atmosphere of a small one.

What advice would you offer to an incoming freshman?

  • If you decide to pursue a degree in engineering, your journey will be difficult, so learn to adapt, to be curious, and to rely on the community around you.

What would people be surprised to know about you? 

  • My dream job is to become a professor after working in the industry.

Who has been your favorite staff and/or faculty member?

  • My favorite professor has been Dr. Jameel because he is fun and engaging in the classroom. My favorite staff member is Brittany Hayes; she is super approachable and is a great resource.

What is your favorite extra-cirricular activity?

  • My favorite extra-curricular activity is helping with TAPPI events on campus such as prenights and student panels; I find opportunities to give back to my community rewarding.
