None yet, but look forward to many in my future, starting the summer of 2021 with International Paper!
Why did you choose Paper Science and Engineering (PSE)?
I didn’t know anything about PSE before I started looking at State, but I was intrigued the first time I heard about it. I hadn’t realized that pulp and paper products had so many applications. When I realized the broadness of the industry, I decided that PSE was definitely something I wanted to do.
What is your favorite thing about Paper Science and Engineering?
I love how connected everyone is within the major. It’s small, so it feels like everyone knows everyone.
What is your favorite thing about NC State?
I love the campus so much. It’s lovely and peaceful, and there are so many nice places to study.
What advice would you offer to an incoming freshman?
Always keep your goals in the front of your mind so you don’t get distracted by little things. There are so many decisions you could make at any given time, so it’s important to make the best choices you can for you and the future you’ve got in mind.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I think people who don’t know me well would be surprised to learn that I’m really interested in political activism. Whether that be about environmental reform, redesigning the judicial system, or even just getting more people to vote, I’m just very passionate about making life better for everyone.
What is your favorite extra-curricular activity?
I’ll read just about anything I can get my hands on. I like fiction because it’s fun to go to imaginary worlds and escape the chaos of this one for a while. I also love reading social sciences because it’s super important to be aware of the struggles other people face. I just really love learning more about the world that we live in. I also am a competitive gymnast and have been doing gymnastic for almost 12 years.
