Why did you choose Paper Science and Engineering (PSE?

  • I chose PSE for several reasons. The PSE community is a practically a family and everyone wants you to succeed. There are so many job opportunities and professional development opportunities that have a huge impact on students. The papermaking process is so unique and interesting, it’s hard not to like it.

What is your favorite thing about Paper Science and Engineering?

  • My favorite thing about PSE would have to be that the material we learn in class is relevant to the industry.

What is your favorite thing about NC State?

  • My favorite thing about NC State is the community. NC State feels like home.

What advice would you offer to an incoming freshman?

  • No matter how much you think you know, you can always learn at least one thing from another person every day.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

  • One day, I hope to have a big garden and own some farm animals.

Who has been your favorite professor or staff?

  • I can’t pick one person. I can go to every professor I have had in PSE and I know they would support me however they can.

What has been your greatest challenge?

  • I am sure this is similar to everyone, but this pandemic has definitely made life much more difficult. Not being able to be on campus and balancing school and work makes everything more strenuous. I am hopeful that this will be the most challenging times of our lives.
