We are excited to announce the speakers for our three virtual panels on March 25, 2021.  This year’s theme is sure to be a great hit with all audiences.  Learn from the perspectives of seasoned human resources professionals, operations managers, young alumni and students from manufacturers and suppliers alike.

Amy Shelton Little, International Paper

Amy Shelton Little is currently the Human Resources Director for International Paper’s Industrial Packaging business, based at the company’s Memphis, Tennessee global headquarters.  She began her career with IP and has held both field and corporate human resources roles across the United States and in Brazil.  In 2010 she was named Business Human Resources Manager for the Shorewood division of International Paper and in 2012 when the business was divested was named Vice President, Human Resources of the newly formed company, AGI-Shorewood.  In 2013 she returned to International Paper. Amy holds degrees from the University of Memphis in Communications and Spanish.

Brian Schakel, Solenis

Brian Schakel is the Human Resources Director for Solenis’ North America Pulp and Paper and Industrial Water Technologies businesses, Product Management and Global Technology and Marketing. He is based in Wilmington, Delaware.  Prior to joining Solenis, he was a principal for Miramar Global Executive Search. Schakel also has served as chief HR officer for Dialight and held multiple HR leadership roles with Sunoco and General Electric.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in HR Management and Labor Relations from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.

Bill Dannelly, ABB

William (Bill) Dannelly is an experienced manager with over three decades at leading the global technology company ABB. He had held various roles in project engineering, sales, marketing, and product management before becoming head of ABB’s Global Pulp and Paper Product Line. In this current role, Bill leads all of the product line’s operational, sales and marketing teams and is responsible for the development and execution of a profitable growth strategy.  In his free time, he enjoys living with his family in their charming, golf-cart-only community, working on house and/or jeep projects, and sharing many outdoor adventures with his fellow Eagle Scout son.  Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Cindy Hendren, International Paper

Cindy Hendren is the Mill Manager at International Paper’s Henderson, Kentucky mill. Cindy is a 2005 graduate of NC State with degrees in Paper Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering. Cindy has been with International Paper since graduation, holding a variety of roles like Front Line Leader, Manager of Manufacturing Excellence, Powerhouse Business Unit Manager in four different mills and corporate headquarters. Cindy has served NC State in a variety of volunteer capacities and is the current Pulp and Paper Advisory Board President. Cindy enjoys being a wife, a mom to Avea and David and enjoying time on the lake.

Student / Young Alumni Panel

Aldo De Leon Resendiz, NC State

Aldo De Leon Resendiz is a senior at NC State graduating in May with degrees in Paper Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering. During his career at NC State, Aldo has a combined work experience of 24 months with The Clorox Company, Eastman Chemical, WestRock and International Paper. After graduation, Aldo will return to International Paper for full-time employment. Aldo is an active member of the NC State community as a Goodnight Scholar and mentor, University Scholar and member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Aldo is from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Sarah Sassorossi, Sonoco

Sarah Sassorossi is currently the Plant Superintendent at the Sonoco Paper Mill in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Previously, Sarah was a Process Engineer and Plant Engineer (Maintenance Manager) at the Holyoke Mill. She graduated from NC State with a Paper Science and Engineering degree in 2017. Her favorite things about her job are the opportunity to solve problems at the mill and see the positive impact of the results of the team. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her poodle, Moose, and knitting while watching a TV show on Netflix.
