Why did you choose Paper Science and Engineering (PSE)?
I chose PSE because of all the career opportunities. Dr. Byrd is not lying about the countless opportunities available to you if you put yourself out there!
What is your favorite thing about Paper Science and Engineering?
I love the family feel of the program. I know all of my professors well and always feel welcome!
What is your favorite thing about NC State?
My favorite thing about NC State is the people. Though on a large campus, I have always felt like NC State is a small school because of the amazing people I have met.
What advice would you offer to an incoming freshman?
Read your email and attend TAPPI events! You’ll get to know so many people much faster if you put yourself out there and get involved.
Who has been your favorite Professor or Staff ?
Dr. Jameel has been one of the best professors I have ever had. He teaches you practical skills in his classes that I have directly applied to my work experiences. Also he has a great personality and will definitely make you laugh.
What has been your favorite extra-cirricular activity?
One of my favorite extra-curricular activities is going to Carmichael Gym. It’s a great way to de-stress and also do some other fun activities like tennis, yoga, and swimming.
