Why did you choose Paper Science and Engineering (PSE)?

  • I loved the feeling of family and community that I was able to get a sense of at super scholars weekend. I liked the idea of having a close-knit community of like-minded people within the larger campus of NC State.

What is your favorite thing about Paper Science and Engineering?

  • I love how it has such a large emphasis on sustainability, and I can’t wait to see in the coming years the role that paper science will play in replacing plastics with biodegradable alternatives.

What is your favorite thing about NC State?

  • I love the people, everyone is extremely genuine and I love the friendships I have been able to make so far.

What advice would you offer to an incoming freshman?

  • Try out as many new experiences as you can and don’t be afraid to meet new people! You’ll be surprised about the new things you’ll learn and new friendships that can be made.

What has been your greatest challenge?

  • My greatest challenge so far in college has been overcoming my old perfectionist mentality and understanding that it’s OK to struggle and fail.

What is your favorite extra-curricular activity?

  • My favorite thing to do outside of schoolwork is definitely swimming. I was a swimmer all 4 years of high school and I love being in the water.
