Student TAPPI Fall Formal 2023
Bryanna Lawry, TAPPI President–
For the second year, the TAPPI student chapter successfully hosted the annual TAPPI formal! This year, the event was held at the Clouds Brewing Taproom in the North Hills area of Raleigh, and was a disco theme. TAPPI! At the Disco was definitely a night to remember.
Clouds was the most perfect venue for the event. They had a wonderful display of light food for attendees, as well as an open bar with their own brewed root beer and beer for those 21+! All NCSU TAPPI members were able to attend and bring a plus one. The event had 115 attendees and was an incredible night of memories being made with friends.
The planning committee consisted of Allie Temple, Bryanna Lawry, Kaya Kusmierczuk and Rylee Sepesi. Together, they chose the venue, got a DJ and band organized, picked and ordered food, registered event attendees, decorated and everything in between!
This year’s event began with a bang – live music from TAPPI’s own member (and former prez) Bennett Surrett’s band, Avent Ferry!
This event is funded by our NCSU TAPPI Chapter. It is our largest social event and requires a lot of effort from our Treasurer (Rylee Sepesi), fundraising chair (Elena Zuidema) and social chair (Kaya Kusmierczuk). The event had 114 attendees who danced the night away, took pictures, laughed and took many pictures! This event was started by last year’s board to have a night of camaraderie and fun, at the end of the fall semester. It is scheduled at this time to include new students, as well as celebrate the wonderful semester that we each had as individuals and as a club!
