PSE Students Celebrate Donors at the Trailblazers Event

An early Saturday morning, a week prior to Spring finals, would find most students sleeping in, planning to hit the books after catching up on rest. Following their own higher standard, PSE students turned out in droves at the annual College of Natural Resources’ Trailblazer event on Saturday, April 20th at Carter-Finley. An exceptional event designed to host donors and demonstrate what their help enables our students to pursue, it is often referred to “as my favorite event” by attendees. Attending myself the first time, I could see why! Having on hand representation from all CNR departments, the Dean and Advancement team, as well as many students to talk about their experiences and simply engage with donors on a personal level, this is a unique opportunity for donors to put faces and reality to their assistance.

Two PSE students, Laiken Edwards and Gianna Wessler, share their thoughts on their Forestry and Trailblazers’ involvement.

In keeping with NC State’s ebullient Spring semester, Ms. Wuf romped around encouraging photo ops and engendering wall to wall smiles along the way. Student body President-Elect, Allison Markert spoke, providing exceptional insight as to her election from a small college on such a large campus. PSE students made up a large contingent of the student attendees in keeping with the dedicated sponsors and donors for our program. I anticipate many more Trailblazers in the future and cannot wait to meet more of our stellar supporters.
