Why did you choose Paper Science and Engineering (PSE)?
I chose Paper Science and Engineering because of the close-knit community that this program provides. From the professors’ enthusiasm to the meaningful industry insight and experiences, this program has provided all of the tools to become a successful engineer. This was portrayed to me from day one – so I trusted the process and joined the program.

What advise would you give to an incoming freshman?
Do the best you can in your first year classes! Your GPA during your first year is the foundation for success the rest of your college career. Also, know that your journey in college is independent of your peers. Everyone will go through and learn things differently.
What has been your favorite extra-currucular activity?
My favorite extra-curricular activity is being a member of my sorority. It has provided sisterhood and a sense of belonging that I could only relate to the same feeling I get around my actual family. I love doing service and putting on programs for the community as a part of this organization.
What is the biggest obstacle you have faced thus far?
My greatest challenge in college has been overcoming self-doubt in regards to classes. I used to compare myself to my classmates so much that I wouldn’t feel confident about any of my schoolwork. When I realized that the way that I learn is different than my peers and that the difference is okay, I began to feel much better about the work I did and continue to do, knowing that my journey is different than others.
