Dr. Hubbe Shines at the MET

Dr. Martin Hubbe, Professor, and Buckman Distinguished Scientist, made a presentation on behalf of the paper conservation group at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan on April 15th.  This annual event was attended by about 60 people with an additional 240 attendees via Zoom.  His 45-minute presentation was followed by Q&A. Dr. Hubbe focuses on chemical additives to the paper machine, including  the colloidal chemistry affecting dewatering, the charged nature of cellulosic materials and the development of dry strength. He hosts industry seminars of which an archive may be found here. The presentation, “Archival Performance of Paper as Affected by its Chemical Components”, can be found here. Please join us in celebrating yet another milestone achievement for Dr. Hubbe and the Department of Forest Biomaterials, College of Natural Resources.
